For more than forty years, Paul Chappell has seen God accomplish what human ability could never explain.

When he arrived in Lancaster, California, in 1986, he was twenty-four years old, called to pastor a congregation of twelve people with no salary, a building in foreclosure, and more questions than answers. Again and again, he came to the end of his own resources. And again and again, God proved Himself faithful.

Those experiences became more than ministry stories. They became a lifelong discovery that God’s work is accomplished not through human sufficiency, but through His unlimited power.

Paul Chappell is the senior pastor of the Lancaster Baptist Church and president of West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, California. His biblical vision has led the church to become one of the most dynamic independent Baptist churches in the nation, and his Christ-centered leadership philosophy has become a model for hundreds of future leaders. He has been married to his wife, Terrie, since 1980 and is the father of four married children who are all serving in Christian ministry.
