Out of Commission
Getting Every Christian Back to the Great Commission
by Paul Chappell
You’d be hard pressed to meet a dedicated Christian who doesn’t say the greatest work on Earth is evangelization. But, while all of us give lip service to evangelizing and discipling, the effect of our labor seems woefully behind. Somewhere there is a disconnect between the priorities we claim and the actions we practice. Something is broken—or maybe just out of commission.
This book is an invitation to “look under the hood”—to examine why we don’t witness for Christ as we should, why our local churches are neglecting soulwinning and discipleship, and how we can get back to making Christ’s last command our first priority.
Written for every Christian who desires to obey the Great Commission of Christ, this comprehensive volume is motivational and practical, diagnostic and corrective. Whether you are new to evangelism or an experienced soulwinner, Out of Commission will challenge and equip you to share your faith and more effectively reach your community for Christ.

I just finished OUT OF COMMISSION, and many people don't know this, but it has been written for me personally. You see, I have been a Christian for several years. I have taught Sunday School, I have preached in the absence of my Pastor, I have held services at Nursing Homes, and I lead a Men's Bible Study group on Monday nights with an average of about 30 men. I have been able to give my testimony, present the Gospel, and I've even shown classes of people how to explain the Gospel. And I am thankful to the Lord for every opportunity He has given me. But a few months ago, I was starting to get strong conviction from the Holy Spirit that one-on-one 'soulwinning' has been neglected. Early in my 'spiritual childhood' I told others about what Jesus did in my life, and how He had changed me, but I can't say that I ever expressed to them THEIR need of a Saviour. I then realized that I was one of those people who could converse in a group of mostly Christians, but I was in a safe haven. OUT OF COMMISSION grabbed me by the collar and put me in front of a mirror to see a reflexion of a 'crippled Christian;' Out of Commission. This book has given me the 're-call' to service for Him, the tools needed to go to work, and now I am going to be going door-knocking with my Pastor to get on track. I wish to thank Dr. Chappell for this excellent wake-up call for Christians like me, and may it keep a lot of new Christians from having to look back on 'wasted opportunities' and years. I am going to start circulating this book to my Christian friends in hopes that they too may get 'tuned-up." Unknown on Mar 9, 2015
Out Of Commission could not have been written by a more ardent and faithful soul-winner in the 21st century. Out Of Commission is scriptural, inspiring, informative, convicting, necessary, and very timely. Pastor Tom Faulk on Dec 2, 2014
